Online betting in comparison

Since the late 1990s there has been only one direction for online betting providers: upwards
New sports betting betting providers are added every year, so it is important to keep track of them. Which provider is reputable and which one is dubious? Test reports help to find the right provider for the bets. Testimonials from experienced sports bettors assist in decision-making. Where are the best odds? Which bookmaker has the best new customer bonus? What about the accessibility? Which provider pays out how and, if possible, without fees? These questions should be answered on Wetten.rocks.

How do online bets work?

If you have the right one Betting provider found you open a free one Betting account. When registering, it is essential to provide correct data, which is important because sooner or later every provider of sports betting documents for the verification want to see. Therefore, the correct name, the correct date of birth and the current home address should always be given. And don't forget: Betting is only allowed from the age of 18!

For the Deposit different options are available, depending on the provider. You can pay in by bank transfer or credit card almost anywhere, plus e-wallets or other payment methods that you can use to pay in via your bank account.

If a Payout should be requested, the same payment methods are usually available. It should be noted, however, that many providers only pay out with the option with which the deposit was made. So if you paid in with a certain e-wallet, you cannot withdraw to another. Some betting providers insist on payment by bank transfer in order to be able to verify the customer's identity more easily. In most cases, the bookmaker's finance department requires copies from the customer confirming his or her identity at the latest when paying out. This can be a copy of a photo ID such as a driver's license, ID card or passport. In addition, a copy of a household bill (electricity, water, gas) is usually required. It is different from bookmaker to bookmaker, the best way to clarify this in advance by email or in live chat so that there are no surprises.

It is also important to note that many sports betting providers do not offer an unlimited number of payouts for free. Usually this is limited to a certain number per week or month. This is due to the high administrative effort and fees that are charged by the payment service providers. Information on fees can be found in the terms and conditions or on the payout page of the respective betting provider.

What is a betting odds?

The betting odds are in a sense that probability a sports bet. For top clubs like FC Bayern, FC Liverpool or FC Barcelona you usually get low betting odds because they are more likely to win. The higher the odds, the less likely it is that a bet will be won. Which of course doesn't mean that you shouldn't bet on high odds because after all, there are enough surprises in football betting and in other sports.

For example, the odds for a soccer game can look like this:
1 home win 2.00
X draw 3.30
2 away win 3.50

If you bet 20 euros on a home win, the stake is multiplied by the odds: 20 euros x 2.00. If the bet is won, you then win 20 euros net, and the bookmaker will refund you 40 euros. In the case of an away win, it would be three and a half times the stake.

Sports betting providers earn their money through the so-called margin, so the profit margin. On the Quota key the payout can be calculated. The above example shows an odds key of 92%, the betting provider's margin is 8%.

The quota key can be calculated with this formula:
1 / (1 / odds home win + 1 / odds draw + 1 / odds away win) x100

For example, a 100% odds key would be home win odds 3.00 draw 3.00 away win 3.00. The lower the odds key, the higher the bookie's profit margin. The rate of 2.00 is equivalent to a probability of 50%, the rate of 3.00 corresponds to 33%. If a bookmaker assumes a game with completely the same probabilities, he usually does not offer 3.00 each, but subtracts a certain part from each odds so that a profit remains for him. Provided, of course, that the total commitment of all customers on each result is the same. With a 92% odds key, the betting odds would look like this if they were completely balanced:
1 home win 2.75
X draw 2.75
2 away win 2.75

How do I place a bet?

As soon as there is credit in the betting account, a bet can be placed. If you choose an odd it will appear in the betting slip. After entering the desired stake and a further confirmation, the bet is placed and the stake is deducted from the balance. If the bet is won, the winnings are usually credited to the betting account within a short period of time.

There are different betting limits depending on the sport and event. These can be betting limits or winning limits and are displayed when placing a bet. If the stake is too high, the bookmaker rejects the bet and shows the maximum possible bet. When betting on top soccer leagues such as the Champions League, Premier League or Bundesliga, the limits are usually higher than when betting on fringe sports such as swimming or volleyball. With combination bets or system bets, the maximum profit per bet can also be achieved quickly if several high betting odds are combined with one another. Combination bets and system bets are popular if you want to make a high profit with a low stake. But the risk is higher than with single bets.

Where can I get the best betting bonus?

What makes a good sports betting bonus depends on several factors. Each bonus is tied to certain conditions that should be observed. Practically every bookie offers one New customer bonus on, but not all are equally lucrative, even if it looks like it at first glance. So not every 100% bonus up to 100 euros is the same. The most important conditions differed from betting shop to betting shop. How much is the bonus? How often does the bonus have to be wagered before a withdrawal can be made? What is the minimum quota? In what time does the bonus have to be implemented?

These are important questions that everyone should answer for themselves. In the betting provider tests, the bonus conditions are compared. Most providers give all new customers a 100% bonus of up to 100 euros - this means that if 100 euros are deposited you then have 200 euros in the betting account. Some bookies clearly surpass this bonus and give all new customers a 200% bonus, for example 100 euros bonus when 50 euros are deposited.

The bonus criteria:

  • Maximum bonus amount: Usually between 50 and 100 euros

  • Bonus in percent: Mostly 100%, sometimes only 50% or up to 200%

  • Turnover: Before a payout, the bonus amount must be wagered between 3 and 10 times on bets.

  • Minimum odds: The turnover only ever applies to certain bets with a minimum odds which is usually between 1.50 and 2.00. Lower odds bets do not count towards bonus wagering.

  • Duration: The bonus is usually limited in time, so the wagering requirements must be met within 30 or 60 days, for example, otherwise the bonus will be canceled afterwards.

If higher sales are not a problem for you, then high sports betting bonuses with 200% up to 200 euros and a short duration are not a problem. If the stakes are lower, a bonus that is longer valid or the bonus amount is lower is recommended.

What should be considered when betting on football?

Football bets are by far the most popular, with statistics showing that up to 90% of bets are placed on football games. The highest turnover in sports betting is during the World Cup, European Championship and the championship games of the Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A as well as the Champions League. When playing these competitions it can happen that the betting providers have 500 different bets per game in their betting program. Corner bets, card bets, goal scorer bets are just as much a part of it as, of course, the best known Bet types which we would like to briefly describe here:

  • 1X2 bets: The normal bet on the final result where 1 stands for home win, X for a draw and 2 for away win.

  • Over / Under: Betting on the number of goals. For most games, the default value is 2.5. If you think there will be 3 or more goals, you bet on over 2.5, if you expect 0 to 2 goals, it will be the bet on under 2.5.

  • Double chance: If you don't want to commit to a winner, we recommend betting on 1X (home win or draw), 2X (away win or draw) or 12 (home win or away win).

  • Handicap: With a handicap, a team receives a virtual lead of, for example, one goal, then the other team must win by two goals difference if you have bet on handicap victory. With some betting providers there are many different handicaps to choose from, which is interesting if you expect a big win for the favorite.

For all those who like to play for higher stakes, it is sometimes difficult to place the desired bets in the lower amateur leagues as all betting providers special for each match and each type of bet Betting limits put. Significantly higher stakes are possible on the Champions League than on the Regional League. The better known the league, the more likely the bookmaker is willing to take a higher risk.
