The 8 coolest water slides in Switzerland

Water slides are in great demand in summer. It doesn't matter whether you go down the water canal on the Füdli or head first. In Switzerland there are many great water slides in parks and swimming pools. We picked out the eight best.

The water slide in the Brigerbad thermal baths is 182 meters long and is the longest alpine thermal water slide in Europe. During the trip you can enjoy the wonderful mountain panorama.

The knees are trembling, the heart is racing fast. Before it goes down the water slide, the adrenaline level is high. Especially when it comes up with loops or a steep fall. Switzerland also has very different water slides to offer: short, long, wide, narrow, with or without curves. A trip on the following eight is guaranteed to be worth it.

Alpine thermal water slide

This water slide is very reminiscent of a bobsleigh run. It was built on the slope in the 1990s. The slide in the Brigerbad thermal baths is 182 meters long, making it the longest alpine thermal water slide in Europe. Within 40 seconds you will meander down the slope like a bobsledder. However, you are not sitting in a bob, but lying in the water. A trip to the Brigerbad in Valais is also worthwhile. As the largest open-air thermal bath in the Alps, a spacious spa and a new wellness and beauty area await visitors. You can immerse yourself in a water surface of 2,600m2.

Looping slide - Booster Loop

You won't forget these eight seconds anytime soon. The Booster Loop slide awaits you in the Aqua Parc in Le Bouveret in Valais. A thrill is guaranteed on this water slide. If you enter the starting capsule and the door closes behind you, there is no turning back. A trapdoor opens under your feet and you go down - at 85 km / h. Only children over 14 years of age are allowed to test this slide. There are more slides for younger children in the children's and family world of the Aqua Parcs.

High-speed slide in the garden pool

This water slide descends steeply at a speed of up to 60 km / h. The “high-speed water slide” opened in 2010 in the St. Jakob garden pool in Basel has a gradient of 60 percent. It's not without it, so only children older than twelve are allowed to race down here. Younger children will have fun on the somewhat easier tube slides. In addition, it has a 50m swimming pool, a diving bay with a 10m diving tower, a family pool, a children's paddling pool with a tent roof and two volleyball fields.

Water slide in the middle of the Zimmeregg Forest

The 86-meter-long water slide in the Zimmeregg forest swimming pool in Lucerne-Littau is bright orange and ends in its own landing basin. For smaller children there is a 13-meter-long wide-wave water slide and an elephant slide. Those who prefer to slide in the dry will find another slide and a climbing tower in the shady children's playground.

Gravity Killer - for the whole family

Take a winding ride through the tunnel at the Splash e Spa Tamaro water park in Ticino: up to four people can ride on one tire on the Gravity Killer slide. Sound and light effects ensure fun and excitement. For safety reasons, children must be at least twelve years old and be at least 1.20 m tall. Otherwise, various other water slides guarantee bathing fun and action for the whole family.

Verzasca funnel slide

We stay in Ticino and switch to Lido Locarno. There are four slides available for water slide lovers, each with the name of the four tributaries of Lake Maggiore. Our highlight is the Verzasca funnel slide with a length of 49 meters. After a steep S-curve you land in a funnel, where you turn a few laps before you finally shoot through another, steep piece of pipe towards the outlet. Children aged eight and over can try the slide.

The remaining slides in the Bernaqua and the white water canyon also guarantee action and fun. In addition, various pools inside and outside invite you to swim and relax.

Balla Balla - one of the longest

One of the longest water slides in Europe is located in the Alpamare in Pfäffikon (SZ). The Balla Balla slide is 261 meters long, with the first 111 meters indoor and the remaining 150 meters outdoors. The track is equipped with some surprise effects. In addition to the Balla Balla Ruschte, Europe's largest covered water park has ten other water slides.
