Rimage printer error 254 on attempt

Printer doesn't answer - that's the problem

"Your printer is not responding" - these or similar error messages can quickly drive any user to white heat. In this article, we will show you the most common problems and their solutions.

Printer is offline or in standby mode

  • After a period of time, many printers go into standby mode to save energy. Many devices hide or dim their display in this state.
  • If there is no display, there is usually a flashing light on the power button.
  • In this case, simply restart your printer or exit standby mode by pressing the power button.

Printer has no connection

  • The error message "The printer is not responding" usually indicates that your printer is installed correctly but cannot be controlled by the PC. This indicates a bad connection.
  • For this reason, check your connection to the printer. If your USB connection is established and the problem persists, your USB cable may need to be replaced.
  • We recommend restarting your router for WLAN connections.

Bad printer driver

If the error message occurs after following the steps described above, there is usually a problem with the printer driver. We'll show you how to either update or reinstall your driver here:

  1. Open the control panels of your PC.
  2. Click on the entry "Hardware and Sound" and then on the link "Device Manager".
  3. Your PC will now list all of your drivers by category. Now expand the "Printer queues" category.
  4. Right-click the faulty printer, select "Update Driver Software" and start searching for an update for your driver.
  5. If an update is found, install it and restart your PC in order for the changes to take effect.
  6. If this solution does not work, select the option "Uninstall" instead of "Update driver software" in the device manager and restart your PC as well.
