Hacking a password - quick and easy? do you think so?

Okay, I don't know exactly where that belongs and my question is, can it really be that easy? As described here ??

Hack your password - quick and easy!
How do I get the email password?

Brief instructions for hacking email accounts (also works with WEB.DE, GMX, Freenet and various other freemailers). The secret * to get someone else's password is to outsmart the relevant server. If you have forgotten your password, you can have it sent to you again (this may have happened to you before). Now you just have to tell the EMAIL server that it will not send the password to the email address given by the owner, but to YOUR!

Roger that? Okay, then we're ready to go:

    Step 1:
Write an email to: [E-Mail address removed. - puffer fish]

    Step 2:
Use “PASS-RECOVERY” as the subject (without the quotes, of course!). This tells the email server that it is a password request! This is also particularly important, so do not skip this step!

    Step 3:
The content of the email (please copy it exactly like this!)
In the first line: Here comes the email address of the user from whom you want the password, for example [email protected]
In the second line: There is no content here (please don't forget either!)
In the third line: This is where YOUR own email address and password come in.
It must / should look like this: Your [email protected]: Password **

So please put a colon between your email address and your password! Very important! So we suggest to the server where to send the new password!
    In other words:

The server now checks your data, recognizes that it is correct, and sends you the password of the desired address to your own address! This is how you get into every person's email address! If you make a mistake, it doesn't matter, in the worst case you will only get your own password sent again instead of that of the other.

And that doesn't make you puzzled?

  3. Re: hacking a password - quick and easy? do you think so?

I forgot my GMX pw, had to send a copy of my ID and assure you that this is my account, only then did I get it. There was nothing with passwords sent by the server.

Sounds to me as if your [email protected] would be happy about a few access data from gullible people who specify the same pw everywhere ... necessarily change paypal and ebay pw ^^.

This is, in fact, a definite phishing attempt. Lead the steps by no means off, if you have already done it, change your password immediately.

Incidentally, a compromised e-mail account is a considerable danger even if you (sensibly) use different passwords for different websites / services, as you can use the forgotten password function to reset the passwords in many cases.

AOL always says that AOL never asks for a password, so passwords are not sent by email regardless of which mail provider you are with.

Um - even without technical background knowledge like gmx and co and their software works you should understand that this is a simple attempt to get passwords ..

Why should you have to send an email to a gmx email address that has such a stupid name as "nach_fragen" in order to have "your" password reset?
And why do you have to enter the password of your mail account so that they send you the new password of the account?
If that should be a "real" request to GMX for password forgotten you would have to enter your password that you forgot - to get a new one? - but is a creative attempt to get passwords ...

I found the same nonsense of him in other forums (the posting was from almost 2 months ago). In the meantime web.de is informed. His web.de email address has been blocked. However, they did not say whether they would take legal action against him. It would be great for him ...

    Oh man

With every single step every normal thinking person has to realize that it is just an attempt at phishing.
Such a 13 year old boy gave free rein to his creativity .. haha.

    Wat that's not real? : <

In the meantime I just sent 300 emails there * sniff *.
I didn't want to send ez more (I ran out of emails too) to mess up the data collection.

And yes, I like to do this with phishing emails to at least increase the work a little bit and really separate from false data

Wouldn't be such a bad idea after all.
Not that anyone ignores the comments and thinks it's a serious tutorial.
Don't say everything you know, but always know what you are saying.

With the current hectic pace of excitement, that should be changed. Not that someone makes themselves miserable in these bad times.

In fact, the email address isn't relevant to the thread and question anyway. Done.
So long, and thanks for all the fish, gulli: board.

    It even says:
... is not a secret! Everyone should know by themselves what they are doing and an old saying goes: if you dig a pit for others, you often fall into it yourself!
