Sarah Jane Scott: The American hit export
The life and career of Sarah Jane Scott
Is there a young American woman who has fallen for German hits? - Yes, her name is Sarah Jane Scott. First came to Germany for love, she fell in love with the German hit at the same time. The music-loving American was discovered by accident and has been celebrating her breakthrough in Germany since 2016. Sarah Jane Scott's music is fresh, extremely entertaining and has catchy tune potential.
Life path of the artist
Sarah Jane Scott was born on March 23, 1988 in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, USA. The desire to become a professional singer arose early on; and her parents, a pilot and an anesthetist, always support their ambitious daughter in living her dream. Sarah Jane stood in a recording studio for the first time at the age of three and gained her first experience in a children's choir. After leaving school, she wanted to develop her desire to make music professionally and moved to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she studied Professional Music for four years. To finance her studies, she played in several bands and was able to gain important stage experience.
This is how Sarah Jane Scott came to Germany
Shortly before graduating from Berklee College, the love god Cupid struck and Sarah Jane met and fell in love with Cecil Remmler. He is the son of the German composer, singer and producer Stephan Remmler and also works as a singer and music producer. She fell head over heels in love with him and shortly afterwards moved to Germany with her new boyfriend. Quickly mastering the German language, Sarah Jane worked as a waitress and babysitter, but gave music lessons in her new home in Berlin. Shortly afterwards, fate struck again: Sarah Jane Scott performed at a private birthday party and tried her hand at German hits for the first time. The father of her boyfriend, who became known in the 80s with the band Trio, noticed the musical talent of the new addition to the family, so he immediately offered her to compose and produce a few songs for her. This was the beginning of Sarah Jane Scott's hit career.
Sarah Jane Scott's music career
Sarah Jane Scott has long mastered the German language very well, only a small American accent has remained, which gives the songs a very special touch. After months of work in the studio, the artist was excited to discover on April 16, 2016: In the program “Das Große Schlagerfest”, hosted by Florian Silbereisen, she presented her first single “Hallo, hallo” on German television for the first time. It is the first release of the debut album "Ich schau dir auf die Augen", which was released the day before. Sarah Jane was also given the great honor of performing the songs "Beautiful Stranger Man" and "Love is a Strange Game" together with Florian Silbereisen. The appearance in the ARD hit show ensured that Sarah Jane Scott was presented to a large audience. As a result, she was able to land many other live appearances, including in the program "Meine Schlagerwelt" by Ross Antony. Even if she is still at the beginning of her career, the positive charisma and her stage presence already predict a great career for her.
That's how it all started with Sarah Jane Scott
She is a young, modern, adventurous and always funny young woman, who looks adorable and has a great voice: the blond-haired American singer Sarah Scott, who discovered the German hit for herself.
Born and raised in the small community of Honesdale, Pennsylvania, Sarah Jane knew early on that she wanted to be a singer. At the age of 3, she was already recording Christmas carols in her father's hobby studio. She also sings in a children's choir. At the age of 7 she started taking piano lessons, three years later she wanted a guitar, but “only” got a ukulele. Her father said that a guitar was unsuitable because her hands were still too small. Little Sarah Jane then practiced her sore fingers on the ukulele. She has remained loyal to the instrument to this day, it has become her trademark. At the age of 14 she becomes - at her own request - a student at a special "Performing Arts High School" which, in addition to regular school subjects, focuses on music with singing, drama and dance. She also joins the school choir, with which she later travels to the Caribbean and, at the end of school, is awarded the “Vocal Award” as the best singer of the grade.
After finishing school, she enrolled at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and studied professional music for four years. She successfully completed this course in 2010 with “Summa cum laude”. Four weeks before graduation, she met her German fellow student Cecil Remmler, son of the former trio singer Stephan Remmler. On the spur of the moment, she went to Europe with him in 2010, more precisely to Berlin. There she initially worked as a waitress and babysitter, but also gave music lessons for children's groups.
Although still a stranger in Berlin, Sarah Jane quickly set about learning German. “As a musician, more than all of the grammar and vocabulary training in the language course helped me to learn German hits,” she remembers the first few months in my new home. She now speaks German well, except for a little American accent that has stayed with her. But it is precisely this accent that makes them so charming for German Schlager fans and always creates a good mood.
At the beginning of 2018, Sarah Jane announced on Facebook that she spontaneously married Cecil Remmler. "It was relatively spontaneous (exactly how I came to Germany at the time), but very special and exactly as I had imagined," she announced.
The musical success
On April 15th, 2016 her debut album “Ich schau dir in die Augen” was released, which marked the start of her hit career. Sarah Jane became known to all fans of the German hit through the inspiring appearances in Florian Silbereisen's shows.
In spring 2017 she was allowed to go on tour with KLUBBB3, Voxxclub, DJ Ötzi and the breathtaking dancers of the DDC. This meant a lot to the young artist, because it enabled her to be even closer to her fans, for example.
On 07/21/2017 Sarah Jane released her second album entitled "So much". This also has a relation to her fans, because they give the artist “so much”: strength, joy, love.
Sarah Jane and the love for the fans
Sarah Jane never misses an opportunity to be close to the fans: at autograph sessions everyone gets a desired autograph, can take a selfie with her and exchange a few words. She is also active in social networks such as Facebook and Instagram and keeps fans up to date with live videos and posts. Particularly close to her heart is the "Official Sarah Jane Scott Fanclub", for whom she actively collaborates and helps organize fan club meetings.

The term "Schlager" has been around for many decades. It was only the possibilities of preservation on shellac, vinyl and later on CD up to today's digital distribution via Spotify, Facebook and Youtube that created and continue to create star cult. In the 1950s there were real hit superstars such as Freddy Quinn, Peter Alexander and Caterina Valente for the first time. Even in the times of the Beatles and Stones, there was “beating” - with Roy Black, Rex Gildo, Heintje, Drafi Deutscher and Udo Jürgens, there were different representatives of their fields, among others. by magazines like Bravo and radio stations like RTL. These names are popular to this day and therefore of course also a topic at schlager.de.
In the 1970s, the ZDF hit parade moderated by Dieter Thomas Heck was formative. The popular series made stars like Chris Roberts, Jürgen Marcus, Bernhard Brink, Cindy & Bert, Lena Valaitis, Bernd Clüver and others non-stop. Joke and comedy performers such as Mike Krüger and later Jürgen von der Lippe also made a name for themselves. We like to look back on this time of live shows and portray the stars of that time for you in our Schlager wikis. To this day there are also new releases from the stars of that time, which you will be the first to hear about with us.
The hit scene experienced a lasting damper in the 1980s when Neue Deutsche Welle stars like Nena, Trio and Markus came to the fore. Singers like Andy Borg showed that even in these years success with hits was possible. In the 1990s, Wolfgang Petry and cult singers like Dieter Thomas Kuhn and Guildo Horn, who won the Eurovision Grand Prix, showed that the hit is definitely alive. Michelle also cut a good figure in the Song Contest. At that time, broadcasters such as WDR4 recognized the signs of the times and created their own hit parades and organized concerts such as the now established hit nights.
The new millennium provided a number of other megastars of the hit - especially Helene Fischer stands for a new dimension of performance in German hit. Even their stadium tours are sold out. The second hit queen, Andrea Berg, triumphs with other means, giving sexy concerts in large arenas on the one hand, and celebrating intimate and up-close concerts on the other. Not only KLUBBB3 with the "Feste" presenter Florian Silbereisen, but also his currently very successful colleagues such as Vanessa Mai, Fantasy, Matthias Reim, Beatrice Egli and long-running Roland Kaiser claim that Schlager is cool. Our main focus is of course on these and other current stars, about which we report - also in cooperation with our partner from Wunderweib (Bauer-Verlag, including "Neue Post").
